Imphal, April 10 2022:
Demanding revo cation of the termination order of Covid warriors by the state government without delay, All Manipur Covid Warriors' Association staged a sit-in protest at Uripok on Saturday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the protest, Association's president Rajesh Sinam contended that terminating the contract of the staffers engaged by the state government as Covid warriors during Covid-19 pandemic without giving any prior notice is inhumane.
As such, he urged the government to revoke the service termination order.
The association met with the Chief minister and also submitted memorandum to authorities concerned.
Yet, no positive response has been received so far, he lamented.
Enquiring why the CM overlooked the plight of Covid warriors, Rajesh reminded that they had rendered service risking own lives during the virulent two waves of the pandemic.
"Is termination the result of their struggle?" he posed.
Rajesh denounced the negligence of the authorities concerned regarding their demand and cautioned of launching intense protest if their demand of revoking the termination of service of Covid warriors is not fulfilled at the earliest.
