The Menstrual Hygiene Management Manipur-2018 Campaign report in respect of Noney/Tamenglong and Ukhrul districts was released today by CM N Biren Singh at CM's Secretariat.
The programme was attended by Urmila Chanam, Founder of Breaking The Silence Campaign, Bangalore, Agui Kamei, coordinator, Tml & Noney Dists of Breaking The Silence Campaign, Silvia Rimai, coordinator of Ukhrul district and Ashwani Kumar Vice-Chairman, MIDA.
Campaign T-shirts was also launched by the ChiefMinister.
Manipur Campaign 2018 undertook an extensive travel on road through the three hill districts of Noney, Tamenglong and Ukhrul to conduct district level mass awareness programme on menstrual hygiene management at schools, community halls in the presence of village authority, Church leaders, District Government officials, reaching close to 3000 individuals from different tribes.
Urmila Chanam presented the National scenario of menstrual hygiene management and realities from six districts.
Breaking the Silence has worked in Imphal East, Kakching and Bishnupur districts.
Urmila proposed a Government program on menstrual hygiene management in the State.
Conveying that menstrual hygiene is an important topic, N Biren assured that the State Government will definitely take steps to ensure menstrual hygiene awareness for its female population.
