NCC air wing celebrates Indian Airforce Day

Manipur Air Squadron of NCC Group HQ, Imphal celebrated the 92nd Indian Airforce Day on Tuesday at Ananda Purna School, Thoubal district with healthy participation by the NCC fraternity, NCC Air Wing cadets, locals, students and teachers of the school.
According to PRO Defence, a short movie showcasing the glorious achievement of IAF was screened for the attendees.
In his address, NCC Imphal group commander Brigadier SR Sharma, highlighted the Indian Air Force's significant contributions since its inception.
He underscored the IAF's pivotal role in various campaigns and humanitarian aid and disaster relief operations worldwide, proving its mettle and professionalism.
Brigadier Sharma then stressed the importance of national integration and the progressive involvement of youth in nation-building.
He also spoke on the role of NCC cadets in societal development.
The event concluded with a rendition of the NCC song and the national anthem.
Since its establishment on October 8, 1932, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has been instrumental in defending the nation, securing Indian airspace, and engaging in aerial warfare during conflicts.
It has also been actively involved in humanitarian missions during natural disasters and emergencies.
Renowned for its precision, technological prowess, and highly skilled personnel, the IAF operates a diverse fleet of aircraft including fighters, transport planes, helicopters, and drones.
Guided by the motto "Touch the Sky with Glory," the IAF continually modernises its capabilities with advanced jets such as the Rafale and indigenous Tejas, enhancing its strategic capabilities through partnership with global defence forces.
The force remains a symbol of strength and national pride, the PRO said in a release.
