Valentina to get ADAM Environment Award

Alliance for Development Alternatives Manipur (ADAM), Kakching would be presenting the ADAM Environment Award 2022 to Chief Minister's Green Manipur Mission brand ambassador Valentina Elangbam, a 13-year old environment activist, who rose to fame after a video of her crying over cutting down a tree planted by her went viral.
ADAM secretary and Management Committee Angaan Ching Eco Park coordinator Surjit Kshetrimayum made the announcement at the inauguration of platforms and viewpoints constructed at Angaan Ching Eco Park, Kakching constructed with funding from directorate of environment and climate change, on Sunday.
Eldest member of ADAM Naorem Rajendro and Management Committee member Kshetrimayum Ranjit inaugurated the two structures in the presence of honorary caretaker of the eco-park Birmangal Pukhrambam.
The award carries Rs 10,000 cash, memento and certificate.
It will be presented on the World Envi ronment Day observance to be held on June 5 at the Eco Park.
The award was first instituted in 2006 and resumed this year after a hiatus for some years.
Valentina Arambam will be the 6th winner of the award.
The first was presented to Dr Kh Shamungou in 2006 followed by MMTA in2008, AMWJU in 2010, Wangkhem Mangi in 2012 and CRED Naoremtheng in 2014 .
