Bomb explodes at LFS gate; search Ops conducted

Imphal, June 05 2022:
Unknown miscreants triggered a blast at gate no 2 of Little Flower School, Sangaiprou under Lamphel Police Station on Sunday.
According to a police report, the bomb, suspected to be an IED, exploded around 3.15 am on Sunday.
Fortunately, no one was injured.
A team of Forensic Science experts visited the scene and conducted preliminary investigation.
Lamphel Police has registered a case in this regard and investigation is underway.
However, there have been no reports of any arrest made or any inkling on as to who is behind the blast, which caused damage to the school gate and shattered window panes.
Meanwhile, Little Flower School Past Pupils' Association has strongly condemned the bomb attack at the school.
In a release, All Manipur Catholic Union Information and Publicity secretary James Gangmei also condemned the blast and appealed to the government to take up all necessary actions.
On the other hand, Imphal West District Commando carried out search operations in various places of the district on Sunday.
As per a report, a team carried out searches at Singjamei Chinga Mathak from 6.30 am to 7.20 am.
In all, 20 houses were searched and 70 people including a member of KCP (City Meitei Group), who is out on bail, were verified.
However, they were no reports of any arrest made during the operation.
Another team carried out similar search operation in Thangal Bazar area from 4.30 pm to 5 pm on Sunday.
Altogether 135 people were verified, out of which 5 without identification papers were handed over to City PS and they were later released after proper verification.
