If the Act becomes a law, it will help patients needing blood frequently particularly those suffering from cancer, kidney and liver ailment and anaemia.
The era of blood replacement will end once the Act becomes law as patients will receive blood from donors with relative ease, it said.
FIBDO, however, lamented that even if the Act become a reality in Manipur, the state currently has low number of voluntary donors, who constitute only around 30 percent of the total blood requirement of the state.
It is not an easy task to reach 100 percent from 30 percent within a short time, it noted.
