TSA holds general assembly in Assam

For the first time ever in its history, Thadou Students' Association (TSA) conducted its 66th General Assembly on September 28 and 29 outside Manipur at Hotel Fortune in Guwahati, Assam.
Leaders of all TSA branches, blocks, units and advisors attended the general assembly both virtually and physically.
Former Thadou National Council (now Thadou Inpi) president SH Seipu attended the opening ceremony of the general assembly on September 28 as chief guest and hoisted TSA's flag while the closing ceremony was held with Mizo Zirlai Pawl vice president C Lalremruata as chief guest.
On the last day of the general assembly, election of new office bearers of TSA-GHQ (2023-26) was conducted.
The newly elected Central Working Committee (CWC) members include Michael Lamjathang Haokip, Nguljapao Lhoujem, Thangminlun Haokip, Nguljangam Hangshing and Kamkholun Singson as president, vice president (administration), secretary general, secretary (finance), and secretary (information) respectively.
On September 30, a consultative meeting on the rights of the indigenous peoples with special reference to the Thadou tribe was held.
Intellectual discussions on 'Manipur Crisis: its genesis, challenges and the way forward and unrelenting resurgence for a brighter Thadou tribe' was also held with question and answer session.
Apart from TSA leaders, the other who attended the assembly included leaders of Thadou CSOs of Assam like Thadou Inpi Assam, Thadou Youth Association, Assam, Thadou Literature Society, Assam, etc.
The general assembly also reiterated the August 30 statement of TSA branches on the now five-month long violence in Manipur condemning the violence and calling for justice to all the victims and for non-violent, peaceful and permanent solution to the problems besieging Manipur.
