AMSU for increasing intake capacity in schools, colleges

All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) submitted a memorandum to CM N Biren urging for increasing intake capacity of students in government educational institutions for the academic session 2021-22.In a release, AMSU president H Chalamba said that admission in schools and colleges for 2021-22 academic session will see sharp rise following the en-masse promotion of students in the BOSEM and COHSEM Exams.
The number of students seeking admission in schools and colleges for the academic session will be overwhelming and there is also the possibility of many students dropping out unable to secure admission in private schools, it noted.
AMSU also stressed that it had repeatedly urged the state government to constitute a committee under the guidance of education minister to address issues besetting the students.
The state government should increase the student intake capacity in its schools, colleges and universities while there is still time for the greater good of the student communitv, the release added.
