NPF unit fumes over excluding Saikul AC

Stating that the unit will honour the request of NPF and wait till February 5 for outcome of the discussion held in connection with non-fielding of candidate in Saikul assembly constituency, the Naga People's Front (NPF) 46-Saikul has cautioned of launching democratic movements if the NPF leadership fails to translate into action assurance given.
In a jointly statement, NPF Saikul vice president Feliz Siro and general secretary LK Vareso Mokung recounted that the NPF Manipur set December 15, 2021 as the last date of form submission for seeking NPF ticket.
As per the information, two intending candidates took the form and submission was duly done on December 15, the release informed.
However, when the list of the selected NPF candidates was announced on January 31, Saikul A/C was left vacant, it lamented, while stating that Saikul NPF office bearers went to the NPF office at Tarung to seek clarification.
After forwarding the matter to the central office, Kohima, the unit office bearers went to Kohima and met Candidates Selection Committee as well as the central office bearers on Wednesday.
After deliberating on the issue of not fielding NPF candidate in Saikul AC, the leaders and the committee assured of discussing the matter seriously, the release narrated, while adding that the leaders assured of informing the outcome of the discussion before February 6 .
As such, 46-Saikul A/C unit office bearers and the active members decided to honour the request and wait till February 5 failing which any kind of democratic movement will be initiated, the release reiterated.
