Imphal, October 02 2018: In commemoration of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, an "International Day of Non-Violence" was organised at Manipur Press Club today.

Floral tributes were paid to the photo of Mahatma Gandhi during the event and an exhibition of photo and his quotation was also held.

A symposium on "Gandhi Concept on Non Violence and the Present Day Youth" was also held and a film titled as "A Force More Powerful", which based on nonviolence was also screened.

Senior Citizens for Society, Manipur Working president RV Mingthina and its general secretary Prof L Sadananda, Manipur Mahila Kalyan Samiti, president, A Bimola, Manipur State Commission for Woman, former Chairperson Dr Ch Jamini, retd MU Prof, Dr Ksh Bimola and former Minister Dr M Nara attended the event as presidium members.

The event was organised by the Organising Committee on International Day of Non-Violence which comprises of 13 Lups.
