Imphal, June 30 2021:
While urging all the eligible persons to get vaccinated at the earliest possible, the state government has announced that it will be relaxing the curfew and de-notifying the containment zone orders in a 'calibrated manner' by assessing the Covid infection scenario.
In a notification issued Wednesday, special secretary (Home) H Gyan Prakash specified that while 'unlocking' without compromising on public health and safety, it has been considered prudent to prioritise the opening of institutions, organisations, factories, shops, markets, private offices, etc., where its employees and workers are COVID-19 vaccinated.
This would also apply to NREGA job card holders and workers of government/private projects, it added.
Further stating that the government has made arrangements for setting up vaccination centres in any area on the request of an organisation or group if the number of beneficiaries is more than 150, the notice mentioned that any organisation or group may contact the deputy commissioner of the district or the state mission director of National Health Mission (NHM) on the mobile number 9436206298 for organising such sessions.
There are several vaccine centres where anyone above 18 years and above can walk in and get vaccinated and workers of government offices and projects.
It may be mentioned that the state government had been periodically extending the curfew/lockdown being imposed since May 8 in Imphal West, Imphal East, Bishnupur, Thoubal, Kakching, Churachandpur and Ukhrul districts in a bid to control the spread of coronavirus.
