Imphal, June 30 2013: The 6th Meritorious Award of All Women's Development Society was presented in a function held at Lamlongei Mantripukhri Community Hall here today.

The award function was attended by MLA of Heingang Constituency Nongthombam Biren as Chief Guest and retired Associate Professor Waribam Sanggaijaobi as President, while Director of JN Manipuri Dance Academy Dilip Mayengbam, General Secretary of All Manipur Private Schools' Welfare Association N Rameshwar, Secretary General of AMADA Ph Phoni Meetei, Member of Ema Phouoibi Lai Committee N Lakshman and MCS topper Bidyarani Ayekpam as Guests of Honour.

The topper of Manipur Civil Services Examination, 2012 Ayekpam Bidyarani was honoured with a special award on the occasion, while her parents were presented with the award of "Best Father and Best Mother of Heingang Constituency" .

The first divisioners in Class X and XII examinations from Lamlongei area were also felicitated with cash prizes and certificates.

Speaking on the occasion, MLA N Biren stressed on the importance of education in the development of a country, and appealed to the students to work hard with dedication to make the State peaceful and progressive.
