Barking deer rescued

Imphal, July 28 2019:
A team of police personnel of Nongpok Sekmai Police Station led by Inspector A Nabakanta Sharma and Sub-Inspector Kiran has rescued one stranded barking deer from Ingourok Makha Leikai, today.
After receiving information about the incident from the police, volunteers of People For Animal Manipur rushed to the spot and vaccinated the wounded deer which was reportedly chased by few poachers before taking shelter at the home of one Keisham Subon.

Later, the animal was released in a safe environment by the staff of Lamdeng Reserved Forest and volunteers of PFA.
Stating that the entry of wild animals in human settlement has become a common phenomenon in the area and three deers have been rescued in a very short duration, one of the locals urged the concerned authorities to take up neccesary measures to solve the problem.
