DG AR distributes solar street lights

Imphal, November 27 2013: Continuing with its endeavour of reaching out to the local populace especially in remote areas, 41 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) distributed Solar Street Lights to Longpi Kajui Village, Dist - Ukhrul as part of Military Civic Action Programme.

The Solar Street Lights were handed over by Lt Gen Ranbir Singh, AVSM, SM, DGAR to the villagers on 26 Nov 2013 in the presence of Maj Gen Rajeev Chopra, IGAR (South) and Brig Arun Pandey, VSM Commander, 10 Sect Assam Rifles in a ceremony organised at Somsai Garrison.

The people were assured that Assam Rifles will continue to undertake more such civic actions in the future also, the primary aim being the upliftment of living standards of the locals.
