Kanggui, August 27 2013:
The Kuki Students' Organization Sadar Hills (KSO-SH) today warned all District Level Officer within Sadar Hills to be stationed at the district headquarters with immediate effect in public interest.
Talking to mediapersons at Kangpokpi this evening KSO-SH president Thangminlen Kipgen said that district level offices/departments within Sadar Hills station function at the district headquarters Kangpokpi, rather than from somewhere else citing absence of these officials as one of the reasons for the slow and unsatisfactory development in the district.
He further said that, citing inappropriate and unacceptable reason for not remaining at the DHQs some DLOs ignore and neglect their duties inspite of being fully aware that they are supposed to station and function from the DHQs being a District Level Officer.
Elaborating, Thangminlen contended that District Social Welfare Officer N Usharani, who is supposed to be present at Kangpokpi being a District Level Officer, remains confined and execute her assignments from Saitu-Gamphajol Block.
She is not a mere Block officer but one responsible District Officer, who should execute and work from the DHQ not from Block, he expressed and demanded immediate shifting of District Social Welfare office/department from Saitu-Gamphajol Block to Kangpokpi DHQs along with the officer and staffs.
Wondering how the three MLAs from Sadar Hills continue to remain as muted spectators while knowing the reality, the KSO unit also appealed to the State Government and authority concerned more specifically the three MLAs to immediately put into action the demand of the students' body for speedy and satisfactory development within the district and in the interest of the general public.
In the meantime, KSO-SH decried the transfer of Chalwa and T Waichong Centre to Saitu-Gamphajol Block from Kangpokpi under CAD&PD and demanded immediate re-shifting of the said centres to their original place.
Thangminlen maintained that Sadar Hills has been divided into three blocks viz.
Route-A (Saitu), Route-B (Saikul) and Route-C (Kangpokpi) under CAD&PD department and that Chalwa and T Waichong were earlier under Route-C (Kangpokpi) but the department concerned after tender was done recently transferred the said two centres to Route-A (Saitu) .
Expressing that such prejudicious conduct of the Government might to lead to misunderstanding among the people, Thangminlien posed "Is the Government of Manipur and the authority concerned intentionally executing such unacceptable and unwanted activities among the people of Sadar Hills to sow the seed of hatred and violence among them within the district"? .
Terming such misconduct as manifestation of the communal and prejudice mindset of the O Ibobi led SPF Government, the students' body asked the Government to prove that they (State Government) are the real peace and non-violent loving Government by honouring demands put up by the KSO-SH immediately.
The KSO-SH also appealed to the MLAs and the Government to take immediate action satisfactorily and fulfil the demands, along with cautioning that failure to take releivant measures might compel launching various forms of agitation.
