UNC to begin meetings on Naga political issues

Senapati, June 26 2014: The United Naga Council (UNC) will begin series of meetings including the presidential meeting and the consultative meeting on "Naga political issue" will begin from July 3 onwards at Senapati district headquarters.

Well placed sources said these meetings will dwell on the Alternative Arrangement issue demanded by the Nagas of Manipur pending Naga political issue settlement.

According to the sources, the UNC will convene first its presidential meeting on July 3 followed by series of consultative meetings on Naga 'political issue' .

Earlier, the United Naga Council (UNC) had scheduled to have a meeting on June 21 at Senapati district headquarters to review and study thoroughly the Alternative Arrangement demanded by the 'Nagas in Manipur', but it was postponed due to inevitable situation.

Few days ago, the UNC source had said that if need be the UNC might go for a concerted mass movement to press for Alternative Arrangement.
