Imphal, April 26 2018: Employees of Directorate of Economic and Statistic staged a sit in protest at the Directorate's campus today, in support of the Joint Administrative Council (JAC) of All Manipur Trade Unions' Council (AMTUC) and All Manipur Government Employees' Organisation (AMGEO) cease work strike demanding implementation of 7th Pay in the State.

Secretary of Directorate of Economic and Statistic Employee Union, Sagolsem Pravin said that the employees of the Directorate whole heartedly support the demand of the JAC.

He claimed that no employees want to take up ceasework and they want to perform their duties diligently but the Government's failure to take up necessary measures for the welfare of the employees has forced the employees to support the steps taken up by the JAC.

7th Pay is a right for the State Government employees.

The 7th Pay has been implemented in 19 States of the country, he claimed.
