Imphal, July 25 2013: Decrying the release of those accused in the Pallel drug haul on bail, Students' League, Manipur staged a sit-in-protest at Ibotonsana Girls' Higher Secondary, Uripok here today.

Advisor of Students' League, Ch Loken said that the drug mafias, who were caught red-handed, have been released on bail as the IO of the case failed to submit the charge sheet.

He demanded action against state Home Minister and IO of Pallel drug haul case for releasing drug dealers.

Meanwhile, a statement of Students' League Manipur said that in the wake of handing over the Pallel drug haul case to CBI, Student's League, Manipur (SLM) has demanded to take appropriate action against the state Home Minister, alleging him to be incompetent and undutiful.

Regarding the bail out given to the accused persons including an Army Colonel, son of a sitting MLA, Indigo Airlines official and others after the concerned case IO failed to furnish charge sheet, the students' body asserted that handing over the case to CBI rather than giving legal action against the IO is a ploy to conceal the facts of the case.

Till today, CBI has not successfully probed any of the cases that the state government entrusted.
