RIMS gets advanced CT scan machines

Imphal, June 25 2022:
Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) director Prof A Santa Singh, on Saturday inaugurated two new advanced CT scan machines at the RIMS Hospital.
One advanced CT scan made by Siemens company is installed at the OPD block of RIMS hospital and the other by Phillips activated at the hospital's trauma centre.
During the inaugural event, the RIMS director explained that the two new machines - Philips' Trauma CT (Model: Access CT-32 slice machine) and Siemens' Radio-diagnosis New CT-Scan machine - are capable of sophisticated imaging such as artificial intelligence enabled, cardiac CT/coronary angiography, perfusion analysis of brain for stroke & brain tumours, neuro-vascular angiography, peripheral vascular angiography, renal angiography, paediatric imaging, dual energy CT for implants, foreign bodies & characterization of renal stones, imaging of gout to detect uric acid crystal non-invasively, high speed image acquisition (complete a scan in seconds to minutes) 192 slices/image single gantry rotation, higher and better image quality, lower radiation exposure to patient and other routinely done CT-scanning of different body parts can be performed easily and in short duration giving more advantage for well-being of health care professionals during their service.
Prof A Santa also mentioned that RIMS Hospital has priority of opening up world class modular OT and also planning to inaugurate burn unit and psychiatry building.
Prof N Sanjib Singh, medical superintendent of RIMS Hospital, Prof S Subhaschandra Singh, head of Radiodiagnosis Department (RIMS), faculty members and staff were also present at the event.
