Aid provided to people in C-zone, scribes, VDF

Imphal, May 25 2021:
Social activist Dr Alyson Abonmai in coordination with Ching Tam Women Development Association Manipur donated 10 bags of rice and one bag of salt to people of Chadong West village, Kamjong district who have been affected by second wave of COVID-19.After distributing the relief items, Dr Alyson said the donation was made to ease suffering of Chadong West villagers who have been affected by the pandemic at least to some extent and called upon villagers to shoulder their responsibility in containing the pandemic collectively.
The social activist also appealed to people to strictly follow SOPs and guidelines issued by the government towards containing the pandemic.
Meanwhile, Khundrakpam Kendra Kanba Lup (KKKL) distributed edible items to families falling under containment zone in Pourabi area while BJP Manipur Pradesh state council member and COVID 2nd Wave Fighting Task Force, Lamlai Mandal chairman Khong-bantabam Ibomcha donated lentils, mustard oil, potato, onion, sugar and sanitizer to 25 families of Pungdongbam Makha Leikai in Lamlai AC which has been declared as containment zone and two families of Huidrom village.
Joint Forest Committee, Iroisemba also distributed essential items to families affected by the virus.
Sambei Youth Club, Imphal Saikul Road received large quantity of vegetables from Mapao Zingsho village, which is located around 5 km away from Sambei, for distribution amongst the households in containment zones.
Keirao MLA Lourembam Rameshwar through members of BJP Keirao Mandal along with Election Sub-Committee also distributed edibles to families under containment zones of Keirao AC on Tuesday.
Similarly, former Kakching MLA Yengkhom Sur-chandra Singh distributed edible items to 150 households including those in containment zones, widows and people from weaker section of the society at Irengband, Hawairou and Mairenbam under the AC through the members of All Irengband Football Association (AIFA) .
A team of Kakching High School 1984 Matric Batch led by its president Naorem Munal Meitei on Tuesday handed over antiseptic soaps, hand sanitizers and face masks to patients at ITI Kakching, SC/ST Girl's Hostel Kakching, Kha Manipur College Kakching, Kakching Makha High School Community Home Isolation Centres (CHICs) and at Kakching Higher Secondary School Covid Care Centre.
Volunteers of Disaster Response Forum (VDRF) Kakching and Voice of Kakching (VOK) Whatsapp Group using Covid 19 Response Fund collected with the help of public also provided monetary aid of Rs 10,000 towards treatment of a member of Kakching District Journalists' Association (KADJA) who is in home isolation and to another member whose wife and child have been admitted to hospital for treatment of Covid-19 infection.
The aid was handed over by members of VRDF Kakching and VOK Kakching led by VOK admin Yengkhom Martin to KADJA president Ut-tamkumar Naorem at KADJA office, Image TV Building Kakching on Tuesday.
On the other-hand, Imphal East District VDF Welfare Association distributed hand sanitizers and face masks to VDF personnel posted in various parts of the district including hospitals, CHICs, containment zones, banks, police outpost, station etc, on Monday.
In a release, Association's general secretary Kh John Meitei termed as unjustifiable that the government has not yet provided any Covid-19 protective kits to VDF members inspite of using them in containing the pandemic.
