Governor directs DMU to probe recruitment process

Governor Anusuiya Uikey has directed the DMU authority to constitute an enquiry committee to investigate the process of recruitment of assistant professors of botany and physics of the varsity and update her about the findings of the committee from time to time.
As per a release by PRO Raj Bhavan, the Governor had a meeting with DM University vice chancellor H Gyan Prakash and registrar Dr Nivedita Lairenlakpam on Tuesday evening at Raj Bhavan and discussed issue arising out of non-declaration of results of the said recruitment process.
Explaining about the recruitment process of the faculty members to the Governor, VC Gyan Prakash said that the tabulation submitted by the examining authority was not filled up and only four candidates each for botany and physics were mentioned in the proceeding sheet.
He continued that 11 and 13 assistant professors for botany and physics respectively have to be recruited but due to unavailability of the merit list, fresh interview of the candidates who were invited and came for the interview held earlier will be conducted shortly in respect of these two subjects, it said.
Meanwhile, former chief minister and CLP leader O Ibobi Singh called on the Governor at Raj Bhavan and discussed about the prevailing situation in the state, the Raj Bhavan PRO said in a release.
The release informed that O Ibobi highlighted the impact of present unrest on development, employment and socio-economic status of the people.
Issues pertaining to law and order were also discussed in the meeting, it added.
