Thoubal denizens exhorted to take vaccine shots

A one day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme on 100 crore COVID-19 vaccination was organised at Waikhom Mani Girl's College, Thoubal District by Regional Outreach Bureau (ROB) Imphal under the ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Monday.
Delivering the keynote address, Dr Aribam Ibomcha Sharma of ROB head of office, said Thoubal has least number vaccinated persons among the valley districts and urged for taking both COVID doses by every eligible citizens free of cost at the government COVID vaccination centres (CVCs).
He also emphasised on completion of COVID vaccination schedule by taking the 2nd dose of vaccine as per the schedule and continue following COVID Appropriate Behaviour (CAB) especially keeping the festive season in mind.
Dr Ibomcha also called for joining "Jan Bhagidari" (People's participation) to defeat COVID-19.Speaking as a resource person, District Family Welfare officer (Thoubal) Dr Ksh Memcha Devi, who is also in charge of COVID-19 vaccination in the district, elaborated on the importance of taking the COVID-19 vaccine.
She also answered queries raised by student participants regarding vaccines, vaccination sites, doubts and hesitancy of vaccination, benefits of vaccination, etc, during the interaction session.
In his address, the functional president principal-in-charge of Waikhom Mani Girl's College N Jotinkumar Singh advised the students to communicate with family, friends and relatives and encourage them for COVID vaccination.
A quiz contest was also held and prizes along with certificates were distributed.
Private Registered Troupe (PRT) of ROB, Imphal, M/s Bhagirath Nata Sankirtan Kanglup also staged a brief play conveying the message for mandatory vaccination.
