Imphal, June 22 2015 :
All Manipur Working Journalists' Union (AMWJU) has on Monday strongly condemned the inhuman killing of a Madhya Pradesh journalist, Sandeep Kothari by miscreants.
Kothari (40) was a local correspondent for a Jabalpur-based Hindi daily and he was abducted by the miscreants on Friday.
He was burnt to death and his body was found in Maharashtra's Wardha district on Saturday night.
A mining mafia in Madhya Pradesh allegedly killed Kothari after he refused to withdraw a case he had filed in a court.
An AMWJU standing committee meeting convened on Monday with its president Wangkhemcha Shamjai in the chair condemned the killing in the strongest terms, said a statement released by union publicity city secretary A Jiten.
While sharing the grief and pain inflicted on the bereaved family of the late brave journalist, the meeting conducted a two-minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed soul.
The meeting also demanded appropriate actions to punish the culprits involved in Kothari's killing.
