Ccpur DEO, ERO, BLOs to be awarded on Voters' Day

Churachandpur district election officer (DEO)/DC Pawan Yadav has been nominated for the Star DEO Award which will be conferred on the occasion of National Voters' Day on January 25.As per official missive from the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur, three district election officers (DEO/DC) of the state have been nominated for the Star DEO award in recognition of their outstanding contributions in connection with election related innovative practices such as enrolment of all eligible persons, remove impurities in the Photo Electoral Rolls, etc., so as to ensure that Photo Electoral Rolls of assembly segments in the state are free of error and healthy and towards achieving the codified theme- No voter to be left behind.
At the same time, ERO/SDO Churachandpur Dharun Kumar is also among six nominated for the Star ERO Award.
The award will be distributed on the occasion of National Voters' Day to be held at City Convention Hall, Imphal.
The CEO will also honour the service of BLOs in each assembly constituency.
Th Rajeshwar Singh (55-Tipaimukh AC), H Thanglian (56-Thanlon AC), P Kaijamang (57-Henglep AC), Lalthankimi Sailo (58-Churachandpur AC), Lalnunsang (59-Saikot AC) and Darthansang (60-Singhat AC) have also been nominated for Best BLOs (AC-level) from the district.
Apart from DEO Churachandpur Pawan Yadav, the other two DEOs nominated for the award are DEO Imphal West Th Kirankumar and DEO Chandel Rajkumar Mayanglambam.
Meanwhile, as many as 2424 personnel, who will be deployed as presiding officers and polling officers in the six assembly constituencies of Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts, completed the first round of training at Churachandpur Government College on Saturday.
During the training, 14 master trainers conducted audio-visual demonstration on duties of the polling personnel and hands-on training on use of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) in six training halls with 2 sessions per day since January 18.Training coordinator S Thienlaljoy Gangte said that the training was well executed with the help of Training nodal officer Lalrongbawl and other supporting staff apart from master trainers.
He also stated that the second round of training is scheduled for conduct from February 2 .
Show cause notices have been sent to the absentees of the training.
The DEO in the virtual nodal officers meeting on Friday stated that appropriate action will be taken against the absentees as per extant rules.
Six assembly segments within Churachandpur and Pherzawl districts will go to the polls in the first phase on February 27.The total number of electors in these six ACs is 2,21,362.Out of the six ACs, 58-Churachandpur AC has the highest number of electors with 64,095 voters while 56-Thanlon with 17,926 voters has the lowest number of electors.
The total number of polling stations within the two districts is 357 .
