Assam rifles distributes solar lamps

Imphal, May 21 2015 : As part of the Assam Rifles Civic Action Programme five solar lamps distributed to Phaikoh Village and four Solar Lamps to Aishi village of Kamjong Sub Division of Ukhrul District by the officials of 44 Assam Rifles of 10 Sector AR under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) .

According to a statement issued by the PRO HQ IGAR (S), Phaikoh and Aishi village are few of the remotest border villages with poor infrastructure and no electricity in the Ukhrul district.

This area is marked by intense militancy and thus suffers from slow pace of development.

Distribution of solar lamps to this underdeveloped border village was an effort by the Assam Rifles to assist the citizens living in dark and to enable children to study during dark hours.
