AR organises 'Oorja' mobile wellness camp

Imphal, February 21 2021: 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector Inspector General Assam Rifles (IGAR-East) organised a one-day mobile free medical camp in villages along IT road.

Oorja-which means energy in Hindi is an initiative of 44 Assam Rifles to provide medical facilities to the villagers as the health facilities are not easily available in these far flung villages of the district.

The unit mobile medical team including doctors, female medical staff are reaching out to various villages.

The mobile wellness initiative was flagged off from Tamenglong yesterday by Commandant 44 Assam Rifles to provide awareness on COVID vaccination in addition to providing medical care to the villages along the IT road.

The team is expected to reach out to seven villages and distribute free medicines to approximately 750 people.

The female medical staff is reaching out to women, specifically to address the ailments and related health issues of the women population of the villages.
