CSOs reaffirm boycott call of GTH 2.0 in Kangpokpi

Barely a day after few civil society organisations of Kangpokpi under the aegis of Sadar Hills Chief Association (SAHILCA) reportedly called on the chief minister and expressed their support to the government's 'Go to Hills 2.0' programme, various other civil society organisations in the same district under the aegis of Kuki Inpi, Kangpokpi district have adopted various resolutions including boycott of the 'Go to Hills 2.0' in the district.
They have even resolved that any individual or organisation welcoming the Go to Hills programme shall be treated as 'traitors' to the tribal movement and, henceforth, all ties with them (those welcoming the Go to Hills programme) will be severed.
The resolutions were adopted during a joint meeting of Kuki Students' Organization, Sadar Hills; Thadou Youth Association Sadar Hills, Gangte Students' Organization Sadar Hills, Gangte Tribe Union Sadar Hills, Kuki Women Union Sadar Hills, Zillai Sadar Hills and Komrem Students' Union, Sadar Hills under the aegis of Kuki Inpi, Kangpokpi district at Kangpokpi district headquarters on Sunday.
The joint meeting unanimously condemned the alleged appeasement policy of Go to Hills 2.0, stating that if the state government is truly serious about hill development, then it should pass the Manipur ADC Bill, 2021 at the earliest.
"Until then, any Go to Hills programme to be undertaken in Kangpokpi district will be boycotted and the general population are requested to co-operate in the boycott call", it resolved.
The meeting also stated that Sadar Hill Chiefs' Association (SAHILCA) does not represent the^ivil society organisations of Kangpokpi district and their support of the Go to Hills' programme as per a media release on the Facebook page of the state chief minister is not recognised by the people of Kangpokpi district.
It also decided to endorse and support all activities of All Tribal Students' Union Manipur (ATSUM) in connection with the Manipur ADC Bill, 2021 and extend any support whatsoever.
While seeking support and cooperation from the public, the meeting stated that the resolutions were a pledge of the people of Kangpokpi district.
