Imphal, August 19 2015:
Demanding immediate implementation of inner line permit system in Manipur, inclusion of JCILPS's five points in the ILP draft bill and suspension of police personnel involved in the killing of Sapam Robinhood before judicial inquiry, many supporters of the JCILPS-led ongoing mass movement forced Food Co-operation of India (FCI) and Consumer Affairs Food and Public Distribution godown at Sangaiprou to close down on Tuesday.
As a part of the continuous agitations demanding ILPS in Manipur, residents of Sangaiprou locked down the FCI and CAF&PD godown at around 11.30 am.
The agitators first warned the staff by using loud speakers to shut the office.
Then the JCILPS supporters entered the godown campus and informed the employees to leave.
The agitators locked the gate from inside following which all the employees left at around 12 noon.
Later, the JCILPS supporters also locked the gate of FCI godown.
An ILPS supporter said that the FCI and CAF&PD godown will not be allowed to open until the implementation of ILPS in the state.
Meanwhile, additional security forces have been deployed in and around the FCI and CAF&PD godown to avoid further unwanted incidents.
