KCP-PWG members held with arms, ammos

Ten members of the armed Kangleipak Communist Party-People's War Group (KCP-PWG) have been arrested by Manipur police in search operations conducted at different locations in follow-up measures after the tragic killing of two non-locals at Keirak on December 14 by unidentified armed assailants.
The arrested KCP-PWG members have been identified as Irengbam Rameshwar (48), Elangbam Herojit (40), Heikrujam Prem (28), Okram Anandata (27), Senjam Rebingson (27), Okram Amarjit (31), Aribam Ghanendrajit (25), Chongtham Rajkumar (26), Lisam Premananda alias Poirei (45) and James Ningthoujam (44) .
According to a statement issued by Manipur Police Control Room, combing operations were conducted at suspected areas across the state subsequent to killing of the two non-locals.
In one of the operations at Kakching Lamkhai, KCP-PWG cadre Irengbam Rameshwar was arrested, and based on his disclosure, police searched Kakching Mamang Ching Laipham Loknung area, where a camp of the KCP-PWG was busted.
Herojit, Prem, Anandata, Rebingson, Amarjit, Ghanendrajit and Rajkumar were arrested from the said area.
Police also recovered one each 7.65 pistol with magazine, country-made 9mm pistol with magazine, .32 pistol with magazine, and 7.62 country-made sniper rifle with magazine, two double-barrel guns, three hand grenades, one detonator, 19 rounds, two casings, two Boefeng hand-set with chargers, one mobile phone and a numberless two-wheeler.
In another operation, police arrested two KCP-PWG members namely Premananda and James from Kakching Ching Kapham.
Three mobile phones and a four-wheeler vehicle were recovered from their possession, the statement added.
