X-Ray, ECG machines donated to Chandel DH

Political activist SS Olish of Mantri Pantha village in Chandel district on Tuesday donated a Digital X-Ray Machine and Electro Cardiogram (ECG) Machine to District Hospital Chandel, in the name of her late parents Morning Shilshi and Phaldon Dilbung.
The machines worth Rs 20 lakh were handed over to the Hospital Authority in a simple function attended by Kakching MLA M Rameshwar, Autonomous District Council (ADC) Chandel caretaker chairman D Ringo Lamkang, Deputy Commissioner M Rajkumar, Chief Medical Officer Dr Serthani Serbum, Additional Deputy Commissioner Kshetrimayum Siddarth, District Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Joyson Monsang, District Nodal Officer-District Mental Health Programme Dr Khangembam Robindro and others.
Anal Naga Baptist Churches Association (ANBA) executive secretary Reverend Ht Wilson and Mongsahg Naga Baptist Churches Association (MNBCA) executive secretary Reverend Alani Shingshir also attended the function as unveiling minister and conducted a prayer, following which the machines were handed over to the hospital authority.
Speaking on the occasion, SS Olish recalled the humble beginnings of her parents, including her father's brief political stint as a member of ADC Chandel and her mother as a Grade-IV employee.
Many extended support to her family during the difficult times and as such, she felt it important to do something in the name of her parents.
Amidst this, she received a message containing a letter from CMO Dr Serthani enclosing a list of necessary medical equipment.
Thus, she acted immediately and decided to procure the two machines after consulting with doctors, experts and relatives.
Stating that the donation was not an act of showing off wealth, Olish also assured of urging the government to address the problem of shortage of doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and others in the hospital.
