Tamenglong, January 17 2014 : Alarmed over the jungle clearance for rubber plantation in Pangkotphai village under Tousem Sub- Division by one Sharat Singh of Gularthol of Jiribam, Village Authority Chairmen Council, VACC Tousem Sub-Division has called upon the concerned authority to intervene before the matter gets out of hand and cause a civil war.

Ringthengning, Convener of VACC, Tousem said that the people will fight tooth and nail to protect and safeguard the land.

Sharat Singh's action would invite war between the two communities if not intervened by the concerned authority in time, he warned.
