COCOMI demands action against college teachers

Jiribam COCOMI Students' Front has demanded authority concerned to take actions against the teachers of Jiribam College who are negligent and derelict in their duties and responsibilities.
Addressing media persons at its Babupara office, herd, on Thursday, COCOMI Students' Front media coordinator Kh Somorjit stated that during an inspection of Jiribam College on January 4, several teachers were found absent.
The teachers were contacted by phone arid urged to report for duty by January 15.However, upon further inspection of the college on Thursday, the same teachers could not be spotted.
He listed the habitually absentee teachers as Botany assistant professor (MGEL No 104230) Dr RK Shantilata; Chemistry (MGEL No 104226) assistant professor Dr Moirangthem Sudhiranjan; Physics assistant professor (MGEL No 104227) Dr Mutum Deben Singh; Chemistry assistant professor (MGEL No 104256) Thongam Chanu Ningonleima; Chemistry assistant professor (MGEL No104257) Leishangthem John Singh; Physics assistant professor (MGEL No 108585) Nourem Jogendra Singh; Zoology assistant professor (MGEL No 104228) Dr Chongtham Soroja Devi; English assistant professor (MGEL No 104261) Thiyam Tolpishak Singh; Economics assistant professor (MGEL No 104213) Paonam Premananda Singh; and Chemistry assistant professor (MGEL No l04229) Dr Kh Sudhesh Kumar Singh.
Kh Somorjit also urged authorities concerned, including Education (U) director, to intervene and take appropriate action against the negligent and derelict teachers.
The press briefing was also attended by other coordinators of the COCOMI Students' Front.
