BJP leader assures Govt help to local artisans

Certificates and cheques were distributed to participants of the four-week long training programme on leather items conducted under the aegis of Footwear Design and Development Institute, Noida.
Speaking at the distribution programme organised by North East Women Entrepreneurs' Association, Manipur Chapter at Ching-Tam community hall Takhel on Monday, BJP Medical Cell convenor Dr Dinesh Upad-hayay praised the products made by artisans of the state.
He observed that unemployed people from outskirts usually head to city areas in search of jobs but Covid pandemic has worsened the unemployment situation.
As such, special focus should be given to unemployed people so as to ensure their livelihood, he added.
Pointing out that the training could create jobs for the participants as they could work from the comfort of homes, Dinesh also expressed confidence that the villagers would stop migrating to city in search of jobs.
While lauding the initiative taken up by the association in villages, he assured that government will also help in developing villages.
The government is ready to extend all possible assistance not only in distribution of the products in the state, but also in exporting them, Dr Upadhayay assured.
North East Women Entrepreneurs Association, Manipur Chapter president Kangabam Bijaya Chanu informed that 50 people were given training in the first batch.
They will become instructors and will give training at several places of the state.
A sum of Rs 15,000- Rs 20,000 will be given to them annually.
The second batch training will begin from November 20, she added.
RSS Sangathan national general secretary Yumnam Basanta Meitei, intending candidate in Konthoujam A/C Oinam Goldflag and RSS Sangathan North East in-charge L Suresh attended the programme as presidium members.
