Kakching, July 15 2014: A one-day district level farmer training programme on "Seed Certification Process & Advantages of Using Certified Seed" under Seed Analyst, Govt.of Manipur was held at Athokpam Indore Game Association (AIGA), Thoubal Athokpam on Monday.

The programme ogranised by District Agriculture Office, Thoubal was graced by Th.Gyaneshwor, District Agriculture Officer, Thoubal; N.Nimai, Seed Inspector, Seed Analyst, Mantripukhri and N.Hemajit Singh, Subject Expert and Extension, District Agriculture Office, Thoubal as presidium members.

During the training programme, resource persons L.Sanatomba Singh, Deputy Director, AITMA Thoubal; S.Suramangol Singh, KVK, Thoubal, and Kh.

Nimaichan Singh, I/C.Plant Health Clinic Directorate spoke on the topics relating to Soil Management for Certified Seed Growing, Seed Identification and Genetical Purity Maintenance in Field Crop, and Pest and Disease Control on Certified Seed Growing respectively.

Around 50 farmers including those from Heirok, Wangjing, Lamding, Thoubal, Langmeidong, and Khangabok attended the training programme.
