Jiribam, July 13 2014:
Although the Government of Manipur is said to have worked towards health promotion in every nook and corner of the state by constructing health centres, the health dispensary which is being constructed at Phailienthang in Parbung sub-division of Tipaimukh assembly constituency in Churachandpur district has been left incomplete for long.
Talking to Jiribam News Network (JNN), Phailienthang village secretary Rongthang said that the said dispensary building has been standing incomplete for long, in spite of the contractors' claim that the building was completed.
Rongthang stated, 'although the building meant for dispensary is said to have completed long time back, it's doors, windows and floors are not ready to be used', and added that the villagers did not give any completion certificate to the contractors, although the contractors claimed it was completed.
Meanwhile, JNN has witnessed that the building construction stands bereft of quality control as the pillars, doors and windows remained unfinished.
Saying that such a health centre would be beneficial to the villagers, some villagers decried the incomplete construction of the building and appealed to the authority concerned for early completion of the building in the interest of the people of the area.
Villagers also pressed the government to punish the contractors for their improper work execution.
