Bangladeshi Meeteis condemn attack on Meeteis

Meeteis settling in Bangladesh have denounced the continuous attacks carried out by Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists against the Meeteis in Manipur since May 3 last year which have forced thousands to take shelter in different relief camps across the state.
Addressing media persons at Manipur Press Club, here, on Thursday, one Apu Ngang-bam from Bangladesh said that Meeteis settling in Bangladesh have been extending aid to Meeteis in Manipur ever since the crisis broke out on May 3, 2023.Through the Patriotic Writer's Forum, Manipur secretary Rakesh Naorem, Bangladeshi Meeteis donated an amount of Rs 1,75,000 to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund.
He further informed that three Meeteis from Bangladesh, who are still in Manipur under the theme "Support for Manipur" since May 31 last, have visited 11 relief camps in Kakching, Bishnupur, Thoubal; Imphal West and Imphal East districts and provided essential commodities to the camp residents.
Apu also said that Meeteis in Bangladesh felt a sense of joy upon hearing positive news about their counterparts in Manipur.
They take pride in their identity among the diverse communities in Bangladesh, especially when Meeteis achieve success in sports and bring glory to India.
While Meeteis in Bangladesh are desirous of supporting Manipur during the current crisis by participating in the 'war', they acknowledge the practical limitations of being in a different country.
He also appealed to the state and central government to take up all possible measures for restoring peace and tranquility in Manipur.
