Signature and sticker campaign held

P Sanjoy, OC Singjamei Police Station, said organising awareness programmes jointly by CSOs and local clubs at their localities can be beneficial in curbing drug abuse.
Inspector P Sanjoy said this at the signature and sticker campaign held yesterday at Singjamei Police Station as a part of 'Nasha Mukta Bharat Abhiyan' organised jointly by District Administration Imphal West, District Social Welfare Office and Youth Initiatives Forum Manipur.
Speaking at the programme, he said addition of a chapter on drug abuse at schools and college will also benefit the youths and make them wary of venturing into the murky world of substance abuse.
Nongthombam Nutan Devi, Secretary Youth Initiatives Forum, Manipur, said they were extending the awareness programme and interaction with the Police as they will play an important role in making the areas upto 100 metres around any educational institute a 'Drug Free Zone' .
The programme was also attended by volunteers of Youth Initiatives Manipur.
