Imphal, January 13 2015: The Komrem Students' Union (GHQ) has strongly condemned the action of 22 Assam Rifles posted at Sugnu and Thoubal Police Commandos in which they disturbed a marriage ceremony at Tousem Lamkhai Village on the night of January 6 last.

In a statement, the union said one Gopal Poaddar from Assam and his wife Jenevic Kom were unnecessarily made to physical and mental torture by keeping them in the field for more than five hours before handing the duo to Kakching Police.

Stating that unwarranted action like arresting people for some personal and internal matter should be stopped and must not be repeated in future, the union requested the authority concerned not to act just by hearsay but by facts.
