Imphal, November 12 2015: A team of Imphal East district police commando arrested one KCP (MTF) cadre while conducting a CI operation in and around Khurai Lamlong area on Nov 10 .

According to a statement issued by the PRO of Police Dept, the arrested man has been identified as Elangbam Kesho alias Priyo (41) s/o E Dijamani of Lamjao Awang Leikai.

He was arrested from the Southeastern side of Chairen Thong.

Incriminating articles were seized from his possession.

Investigation revealed that he was involved in extortion of money from general public, private firms and Govt offices for raising fund for the organisation, it said.

A case has been registered at Porompat PS and investigation is going on.

On Nov 11, a team of Imphal West district police commando arrested one active cadre of UNLF cadre while conducting cordon and search operation in and around Khagempali Huidrom Leikai.

The Police PRO statement said that the arrested man identified as, Huidrom Ajit Singh alias Langdai (41) s/o H Sarat Singh was arrested from his residence.

Investigation revealed that he along with his associates were planning to explode IEDs in Imphal area in connection with the forthcoming raising day of UNLF.

A case has been registered at Singjamei PS and investigation is going on, the statement added.
