CMAT benefits to be released soon, says dy director

The benefits under the Chief Ministergee Artistessingee Tengbang (CMAT) scheme will soon be released, according to art & culture, deputy director (programme) G Dharmadas.
Speaking at the closing ceremony of the diamond jubilee celebration of Sangeet Kala Sangam, Khurai, Dharmadas said that the CM has approved the relevant process for releasing CMAT benefits and the file is currently awaiting clearance from the finance department.
Dharmadas expressed confidence that the finance department's approval would come soon, allowing the benefits to be transferred to the eligible beneficiaries.
He praised Sangeet Kala Sangam for its dedicated efforts in promoting the state's art and culture over the past 60 years, distinguishing it from organisations that exist only in name.
The event, held on Saturday at the Sangeet Kala Sangam premises, marked the culmination of the institution's 60th-anniversary celebrations.
Wangkhei MLA Th Arunkumar, who attended as the chief guest, emphasised the significance of art and culture in putting Manipur on the global map.
He commended Sangeet Kala Sangam for its contributions and called for further efforts to conserve and promote the state's rich cultural heritage.
MLA Arunkumar also highlighted the various schemes available to support artistes and cultural organisations, including CMAT and other central sector schemes, encouraging them to take full advantage of these opportunities.
A souvenir was released in conjunction with the diamond jubilee celebration, and the event featured a series of cultural performances, including the institution's annual folk dance production 'Loyalakpa Kumdamlon'.
The event was also attended by Sangeet Kala Sangam president N Babuton, and Eastern Zonal Cultural Council Board of Governors member Buddha Chingtham.
