Centre allocates ₹40,475.7 lakh

Imphal, February 11 2024:
With the aim of developing the education sector of Manipur, the union government has allocated Rs 40,475.7 lakh to the state for the year 2022-23 under the Samagra Shiksha scheme.
The funds were sanctioned to upgrade elementary, secondary and teachers' education sector, as part of the PM Narendra Modi-led government's people centric approach and efforts of union MoS Dr Rk Ranjan to address the shortcomings in the education sector in the state.
The funds are expected to be utilised in supporting the various educational projects and ensure effective implementation of the scheme.
As part of the central government s flagship programme, Samagra Shiksha is an'integrated scheme for school education, extending support to states from pre-school to senior secondary level, combining Samagra Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA), Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) and Teachers' Education (TE) .
