Imphal, July 10 2014:
All India Students' Federation (AISF), Manipur State Council today warned that the Federation will launch a series of agitations, if the FIR lodged against its leaders following complaint by the Managing Director of Kangleipak Job Centre W.Bimola and her family members is not withdrawn.
During a press meet held at its office here on Wednesday, Kh.
Rameshore, Finance Secretary of AISF, Manipur State Council alleged that W.Bimola, Managing Director of Kangleipak Job Centre at Uripok had collected bribes amounting to Rs.4.0 lakhs from 5 students with assurance of providing jobs.
He added that even on her failure to provide the jobs, she refused to return the money to the students, who later submitted complaints to the AISF.
The AISF, acting on their complaint, tried to meet Bimola, but to no avail as the office of the Kangleipak Job Centre remained closed.
When the volunteers of AISF went to the Thoubal residence of W.Bimola, some altercations occurred between her family members and AISF volunteers, Rameshore said, and added that the family members of Bimola made a complaint to Thoubal Police against the volunteers of the Federation, thereby leading to registration of an FIR against the student volunteers.
The student leader threatened that if the FIR against its members is not withdrawn, the Federation will launch various agitations.
