IMFL seized; IM cadre arrested

In a joint operation with Nagaland Police, the 31 Assam Rifles seized a huge consignment of IMFL near Ungma village of Mokokchung district in Nagaland and recovered 888 cases of IMFL on Friday.
Assam Rifles source said the liquor was being smuggled in a truck from Dimapur to Mokokchung via Kohima and Wokha.
Three persons along with seven vehicles were seized on the spot.
The detained personnel and seized vehicles were handed over to PS II, Mokokchung.
The local populace and various NGOs conveyed their gratitude to Assam Rifles for taking adequate steps to prevent inflow of liquor into Mokokchung district, the Assam Rifles claimed.
In yet another significant operation 31 Assam Rifles apprehended one NSCN (IM) cadre from Tsutapela Gate, Longtho, Mokokchung.
The Assam Rifles source said the apprehended cadre has been identified as Likok Yanger of New Longphayimsen village, Mokokchung who has admitted to being a 'Khapur' in NSCN (IM) .
Troops of 31 Assam Rifles apprehended the cadre who was carrying out illegal extortion from civil vehicles.
The apprehended cadre was later handed over to Police Station Longtho for further investigation.
The apprehension has once again sent a strong message to cadres involved in illegal extortion activities and disrupting peace in the area.
