KVK Chandel distributes agricultural inputs

An input distribution programme was organised by Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Chandel under the NICRA project at Lam-bung village.
According to KVK Chandel head Dr A Ameeta Devi, as chief guest of the event ANTA president Sng Phamhring Anal stressed on the need for the farmers to work with sincerity and seriousness to achieve their set goal and contribute towards development of the local and state's economy.
He also exhorted the farmers to approach KVK experts and officials of line department in case of any agriculture - related issues or problems.
On the other-hand, ICAR Manipur Centre senior scientist (Agri Economics) Dr Kh Rishikanta Singh urged the farmers to ensure that all their farming practices are remunerative, profitable as well as environment friendly as far as possible.
He also spoke in detail about the urgent need for adoption of latest agricultural technologies in the wake of changing climate pattern and assured of any possible assistance to the farming community as and when required.
Speaking on the occasion, KVK Chandel CTO (Agri Engg) Dr Kangjam Sonamani Singh emphasised on the core issues of enhancing crop productivity and farm profitability and conveyed that they are highly essential to motivate farmers to make farming both sustainable as well as rewarding.
He deliberated on the issues of resource conservation both in hill as well as plain fields for maintaining a healthy environment.
The chief guest later distributed seeds of cowpea, French bean and lady's finger to the farmer participants numbering 57 farmers.
