Imphal, April 08 2013: The "Edu Expo 2013" being organized by LRS India, Imphal began today at Nupilal Memorial Complex here.

In all 19 stalls from New Delhi, Punjab, Chandigarh, Tamil Nadu and Shillong, etc is taking part in the 20-day expo.

The stalls are represented by 19 prestigious colleges and other institutes, including four universities having the facilities of technical and management and nursing education.

Talking to Newmai News Network on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the fair, Dr L Robindro, managing director, LRS, India, Imphal, said it is being held with the main objective to demonstrate the outside educational institutions having high proficiency and competence to the young students of the state.

It also aims to bring a change on the aspects of the present education system of Manipur and allow the students and guardians to consider and choose their different preferred trades on the basis of the knowhow of these prestigious institutions.

Dr Robindro said the LRS India, Imphal has taken up initiative to honour merit students of the state with scholarships, adding that the the same expo will be organized in July this year.
