Romario punished for immoral acts: Koireng-led UNLF

Claiming responsibility for shooting and injuring Khoinaijam Romario of Heingang at Yairipok Pechi on Sunday, the proscribed koireng-led United National Liberation Front (UNLF) said Romario was awarded punishment by its Task Force for his immoral and unacceptable conduct towards women.
According to a statement of the Koireng-led UNLF, the Task Force team received report that Romario eloped with a girl from Heirok but abandoned her at a resort in Mantripukhri area on October 5.To trace truth of the incident, a team of Task Force picked up Romario the next day (Sunday) and questioned him about the incident together with the girl during which it came to light that Romario had sexually exploited the girl multiple times at resorts and even inside vehicles under the pretext of court marriage.
On October 5, Romario outraged modesty of the girl again in a resort at Mantripukhri while promising to elope the day same only to abandon the girl at the spot.
After further questioning and investigation by the Task Force, Romario confessed to have eloped with three girls earlier and abandoned all of them with relevant complaints negotiated through monetary payment.
Apart from this, Romario was the person who caused distress in the community few months back when his case with a girl named Roselien went viral on the social media platform, elaborated the statement issued by publicity secretary of the Central Committee M Shak-Hen.
Romario is a fit case for harshest punishment for the act of felony he had committed in the past and considering women as a mere objects but he has been spared stringiest penalty for conceding mistakes made and promising not to indulge in immoral acts in future, the UNLF statement said adding that the outfit provided Romario a chance to mend his ways in view of his young age.
Issuing warning to hotels, resorts and other establishments doubling up as hubs for immoral activities or flesh trade, the UNLF declared that such practices shall not be tolerated under any circumstances and action deemed necessary shall be initiated.
