KIM issues guidelines for SahnitNi observance

In view of COVID-19 pandemic and SOP/guidelines enforced by the state government, Kuki Inpi Manipur (KIM) has laid down guidelines to be followed during observance of Kuki Black Day (Sahnit Ni) on September 13 .
Sahnit Ni will be observed as a 'Mass Prayer Day' by the Kukis from 11 am till 1 pm in compliance with SOPs, KIM said in a statement issued by its general secretary Shokholun Mate.
No individual or person on this day shall move out of home or travel outside except for participation in the Black Day observance and working in farms or fields should be avoided by one and all.
Black flag should be hoisted on the roof of all Kuki houses from morning till sunset as a mark of respect and remembrance of the deceased while prayer programme organised in the Church should be monitored by the respective church elders, in strict compliance of the SOP guidelines.
All district/block/unit level programmes to be organised should be made known to the Inpi concerned while Kuki Christian Leaders' Forum (KCLF) leaders irrespective of which church/denomination they belong to should ensure that prayers for the Kuki people are held in the church this year between 11am and 1pm with the prayer items as laid down by respective local church leaders.
All the cabinet members of Kuki Inpi Manipur and president and secretary of Kuki Chiefs' Association, Kuki Students' Organisation (Ghq), Kuki Women's Union and Kuki Organisation for Human Rights (KOHUR) will observe Black Day at the office chamber of KIM, Kuki Inn, Imphal for ready submission of memorandum to the Prime Minister of India and the chief minister of Manipur.
KIM also instructed that every individual, group, organisation or association ensure wearing of black dress/traditional dress and take serious note of the above regulations and render every necessary service according to their own capacity for the successful observance of Black Day programme.
