38 days sustained agitation on

The '38 days sustained agitation' of All Tribal Students Union, Manipur (ATSUM) under the code name of ROTO (Reckoning of the Others) has begun since last night.
Workers engaged in railway line construction and oil drilling/gas extraction and other projects both national and state have been intimated today by ATSUM to halt their activities for 38 days, according to ATSUM leaders.
38 days denote the 38 recognised tribes of Manipur.
Under this 'sustained agitation' the ATSUM said seminars under Article 371(c) will be held in various parts and there will also be mobile singing campaign by well known artists including Rewben Mashangva to draw the attention of the people as well as the government, said ATSUM leaders.
"We are doing these things to provoke the public conversations," stated ATSUM, adding, "Our desire is to have prosperity and peace of all the ethnic communities in Manipur and our agitation or campaign is to 'win peace together'", said ATSUM leaders.
