Imphal, October 04 2015: A "Peace and Security Meet" was organised jointly by Patsoi Police Station and Patsoi Post of 12 BIHAR of 9 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) with Meira Paibi community of Patsoi area to ensure peace and security in the area on October 3 .

Over 150 women and several youths attended the meet.

The ideas, suggestions and points to ensure peace and harmony in the area were discussed in the meet and issues pertaining to women empowerment and welfare of people were also discussed.

Meanwhile, 21 Assam Rifles demonstrating the motto of "Friends of the North East" is providing crossing across the Manipur River to villagers and civil administration of Tuitam Khongkhai.

The foot suspension bridge at Singwu got washed away in floods of July last.

Standard Army issue BAUTs (Boat Assault Universal Type) and improvised boats are being utilized for transportation of poor villagers, stranded on either side of the river with their belongings.

The facility being provided is the only lifeline to ferry school children, ladies, poor farmers, government servants and rations on daily basis.

Effort is on by the unit to get the bridge repaired by DC Churachandpur.
