Punish police within 48 hrs: AMRPSWA

Imphal, August 04 2015: Strongly condemning the inhuman action of state force who severely beat innocent students while they were trying to storm the office of Education Minister M Okendro on Monday, All Manipur Recognized Private School Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has demanded the State Government to the punish police personnel who are involved in the killing of Sapam Robinhood within 48 hours.

Those personnel responsible for the killing of Robinhood and Monday's brutality against the students must be punished and Robinhood's body be cremated only after their demands are met, said General Secretary of AMRPSWA, N Joy Khuman at a press meet at Manipur Press Club.

The General Secretary also said that a huge public consultation meeting will be organised by AMRPSWA on August 8 at GM Hall, Imphal on the ILPS issue.

Members of JCIPS, civil societies, students and people from different sections of the society will take part in the meeting, he informed.

While urging the Government to fulfill demands of the students within the 48 hours, the General Secretary also warned of a series of intensified agitations after the August 8 meeting.
